EQED Community Service
In partnership with Orbis International, a non-profit organization that aims to treat and prevent visual impairments, I have invested significant time in tutoring visually impaired students English since 8th grade. To involve my peers in this service, I founded the EQED service club in my sophomore year, where membership has grown to over 90 under my leadership.
As President, I propelled many initiatives to expand this service. On Ximalaya, we have uploaded 178 audio recordings of English lessons to provide resources to all students. For the ease of passing this service down to younger students, I also created an online teaching platform to document all lessons and vocabulary. To bring my peers and students from Shanghai Blind School together, I also hosted many offline events, such as art-making and celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.
I was also elected president of the Citizen Action Council, where we oversee all community service events in school. I also wrote the Citizen Action handbook for all service clubs, intending to support them in reaching their goals. At the end of 11th grade, my school nominated me for the Global Citizen Award due to my extensive efforts and experience in service.

SAS Citizen Action Council
Citizen Action Council is one of SAS’s three core councils. Formerly a high school exclusive council, we recently expanded to the entire campus, overseeing all student action and service clubs. In my junior year, I was elected as president of this 14-member council. Under my leadership, we wrote an official handbook for service clubs, planned the annual Club Fair, and supported clubs in reaching their goal.
